Bendor, the Hidden Getaway …
Located off Bandol coast, privately owned Bendor Island is a hidden treasure of Var Provence with an easy access all year round.
Guests will depart Bandol pier on board a traditional “Pointu”, these ancestral fishing timber boats owe their name to symmetrical pointed bow and aft; handmade, each is unique. Soon they will reach Bendor.
Dreamed and created for and by the industrialist Paul Ricard in the 1950, the island is best explored by foot while you may get alternatively on the small tourist train.
During summertime, an impressive collection of 8,000 wine bottles supports a temporary exhibition you may want to attend. It may be coupled to a paintings’ exhibit; some of them by the hand of Paul Ricard. Learn about the island creation, the industrialist’s family & life. Successful figure in the industry Paul Ricard was also an artist and a philanthropist. From art galleries and craft shops to hotels and restaurants, visitors find all conveniences on the spot.

Or you may as well opt for spa services when back in Bandol ; let’s get pampered : seaweeds or mud body wrap, facials, massage or simply take advantage of the salted swimming pool of the Thalazur Spa on Ile Rousse.
