A major event in the South of France, it takes off every October at the Base Nature François Léotard for editions bursting with energy and creativity.

Open to the sky and the horizon, the Festival International de l'Air de Fréjus (F.I.A.), in its own way for over 20 editions, aims to help the general public discover a world of fun, sport and poetry, where you can experience sensations and emotions.
Under the banner of passion and sharing, highlighted by the combined talents of kite pilots from all over the world who combine mastery, technical precision and, above all, a touch of madness, the Fréjus festival is above all a captivating festive event on a human scale.
As encounters make for the most beautiful journeys, the Tourist Office's organization team is working hard to create new bridges to widen the field of possibilities.
A festival that sets the tone!
The next edition, organized by the Tourist Office on behalf of the town of Fréjus, will take place in October 2023 on the shores of the Mediterranean, at the Base Nature François Léotard.
Before it became an exceptional site on the shores of the Grande Bleue, dedicated to outdoor leisure activities, the Base Nature was the cradle of French aeronautics and the site of major experiments. From the outset, in 1913, it offered the ideal conditions for Roland Garos to take off from this unrivalled spot, with the cumulative feat of two successful world firsts:
the first crossing of the Mediterranean and, with the same feat, the first intercontinental raid from Europe to Africa!
For the F.I.A., the Base Nature will deploy its charms for a grandiose ephemeral spectacle.
Sports enthusiasts, outdoor enthusiasts, families, vacationers... everyone will be able to rediscover their childlike spirit. For a weekend "in the wind", the festival offers a full range of air-related disciplines: traditional kites, artistic kites, acrobatic kites, UlM kites, giant XXL structures...
The kite in all its guises becomes a source of sharing and discovery, thanks to the diversity of free activities on offer: wind gardens, numerous workshops for children, awareness-raising actions for environmental protection...
Tens of thousands of visitors, young and old, are expected at the start of the autumn vacations for a colorful show.
