Located in the heart of the city of Toulon and built at the beginning of the 20th century, this former seat of the sub-prefecture, which became the Hôtel de la Présidence du Conseil général du Var, now houses an art centre.
Previously administered by the Var Departmental Council, this Art Centre was transferred to the TPM Metropolis on 1 January 2020.
Since 1999, the building has been offering spaces for the discovery of contemporary art in which exhibitions by nationally and internationally renowned artists are held. Its influence in the field of visual arts makes it a key player in cultural matters.
In order to pursue its commitment to the attractiveness of the region, the Metropolis has decided to open the Art Centre's artistic programme to the field of design.
