TPM Opera

After 2 years work, which were stated on March the 5th 1860 following the architec's plan Leon Feuchère, the Opera House was inaugurated on october 1st, 1862, thirteen years before the Opera Garnier. Listed monument.

Its decoration is the work of Toulon artists: the statues on the south façade are by Joseph Daumas, those on the north façade by Marius Montagne. The red and gold interior, richly decorated with paintings, stuccos and bronzes, is in the purest Napoleon III style.

With a capacity of 1,300, the Opéra de Toulon is one of the largest opera houses in the French provinces and is renowned for the quality of its acoustics.

The Toulon Opera has been managed by the Toulon Provence Méditerranée agglomeration since 2003. With a diversified program, upgraded and refurbished, the Opéra has now regained its place among Europe's great operatic institutions.

The Toulon Opera opens its doors to visitors during the European Heritage Days.
