Wine capital of Provence
Stretching out between sun-filled "garrigue" and pinewoods, on natural terraces known in Provence as "restanques", are the famous vineyards of Bandol. Powerful and refreshing reds, fruity and distinguished rosés, vigorous, fine and spicy whites... These wines have made Bandol a celebrated and famous label vintage throughout the world's finest restaurants.
Overlooking its superb and sundrenched bay, nestled between the richly scented Mediterranean hillsides, Bandol is one of the largest and oldest sea resorts on the French Riviera with many sandy beaches bordering its bay. Bandol is also a shopping destination with shops open 7 days a week.
Surrounded by hilltop villages such as La Cadière d'Azur, clinging to the side of a cliff, or the 12th century medieval village of Le Castellet perched on a woody peak with its original city walls, Bandols inland countryside is one of the moste typical in Provence.
