Nestled in the wooded valleys deep in the Var region, Thoronet is one of the most remarkable abbeys built by the Cistercians. The absolute purity of the architecture is breathtaking, stone and light combine to create perfect harmony. The Thoronet abbey is, along with Silvacane and Sénanque, one of the three Cistercian abbeys in Provence.
